If you’re a makeup lover like me, you can never have too many liquid lipsticks. There’s pros and cons to almost all liquid lipsticks I’ve tried, the OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks being one of them.
The packaging for the OFRA Liquid Lipsticks is sleek and matte, the containers themselves are typical plastic with a standard wand. The color selection and wanderlust names are what makes OFRA Liquid Lippies ultra intriguing.
I received five shades from the sold-out New York Skyline Collection for Christmas: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Fifth Ave. and Times Square. My boyfriend threw in St. Tropez as well, because it’s the title of one of my favorite J. Cole songs. So that one’s an added bonus.
My experience is that these lipsticks don’t dry completely, so they will leave residue on straws or lover’s lips. On the plus side, they’re enriched with Vitamin E and don’t leave lips feeling crusty or gunky, which is a small downside for my beloved ColourPop Liquid Lippies. At $19.90, these babies aren’t cheap, but some of the colors are worth it. MUA Kathleen Lights also has a promo code, Kathleen30, for 30% off.
The NY Collection colors shine bright like the city itself, each bold and beautiful. However, some are a bit too bold to use solo (hello Tin Man), so I’ve gathered some pics to use as inspiration from some of my favorite MUAs.
MUA Nikki French created an ombre lip using mauvey “Manhattan” and golden “Fifth Ave.” for a full-lip look.
A twist on this fun look by MUA Ellarie can be achieved using “Manhattan” on the outside and “St. Tropez” inside for a mauve to pink lip.
MUA Jessica Haze displays the perfect winter, ice queen look by combining “Brooklyn” with “Times Square.” My only dislike with Brooklyn is that it’s very dark. At first glance (and in some photos) the shade seems comparable to Kylie’s “True Brown K.” or ColourPop’s “Limbo” or “Beeper,” but from my experience it’s much darker. That being said, I think this frosty look would be equally appealing using “Manhattan” as well.
MUA and Instagram Personality Bretman (Rock) posted this look via Snapchat yesterday and I’m loving it! It reminds me of a faux lip piercing, an edgy look that draws attention to the bottom lip. For those daring enough to try this look, it can be attained using your favorite red lipstick and OFRA’s “Times Square.” Bretman also added a little rhinestone in the center of his lip too, to go that extra mile as he always does. Girlllll!
I hope you enjoyed this OFRA Review, I definitely have my eyes on some more of their shades! What are your thought on OFRA’s Liquid Lipsticks and products? I’d love to hear your feedback.
Until next week. XO- Ashleyita
